Where they are on Koh Samui during your holiday stay

Although small enough to go around the island in about one hour, Koh Samui is still big enough that you can always find good hiding places, no matter how long you stay. Despite its constant development, remain large areas of 'island covered with coconut trees, rice paddies and forests.

Chaweng the most popular and longest beach on Samui. Accommodation can be found throughout its length, and while there is now a clear trend towards higher-end hotels andResorts you can still find a few budget bungalows on the islands of days as a backpacker haven. Chaweng is also home to a multitude of islands nightlife, with the highest concentration of shops and restaurants. The popularity of Chaweng means that residential developments away from the strip at the edge of the city or in the hills above the beach where land costs are lower are more likely to be found.

Samui Lamai is the second largest and some say the most beautifulBeach. The water is excellent for swimming and the southern end is dotted with boulders elegant. Although a bit 'less developed than Chaweng, Lamai have its share of nightclubs, restaurants, shops and other mid-range hotels. Similar to Chaweng, available in a protected area on and around the beach means that most homes in the surrounding hills be found.

Maenam on the north coast still offers a wide choice of budget accommodationHowever, there are now a number of luxury resort-end, with a number of restaurants and shops springing up on the main street to offer visitors. Maenam is also home to many of the new villa developments on the island and was among the first areas to Have this development.

Bophut Samui is one of the villages developed recently, and as such has managed to retain part of its charm and traditional Thai values, but still a light, Mediterranean atmosphere. The limited traffic on this route gives the feeling of a relaxed "Walking Street, which increasinglydifficult to find on Samui. Many of the houses have implemented a feed store romantic beach.
