Where to Koh Samui during your holiday stay

Although small enough to go around the island in about an hour, Koh Samui and 'still big enough that it's always good points hidden, no matter how long you stay. Despite its steady growth, there remains a large part of the island with coconut trees, rice paddies and forests.

Chaweng is the most popular and longest beach of Koh Samui. Accommodation is available in its full length, and while there is now a clear direction of luxury hotels and pendingResorts are a couple of bungalows balance of leave days from the islands as a port backpacker. Chaweng is also home to a multitude of islands nightlife, with the highest concentration of shops and restaurants. Chaweng's popularity means that new developments are off the main road in the suburbs or in the hills above the beach, where land costs are lower tend displayed.

Samui Lamai is the second largest and some say the most beautifulBeach. The water is ideal for swimming and the southern end is dotted with elegant rock. Although a little 'less developed than Chaweng, Lamai has its share of nightclubs, restaurants, shops and other mid-range hotels. Similar to Chaweng, the exclusion zone in and around the beach means that most homes in the surrounding hills can be found.

Maenam on the north coast still offers a wide selection of cheap accommodationHowever, there are now a number of top-end luxury resort with a growing number of restaurants and shops along the main road to identify the needs of guests. Maenam is also home to many new developments villa on the island and was one of the first areas to develop such a function.

There is also a surprising number of excellent restaurants in the area, and is also home to the weekly Secret Garden Music Festival.

Bophut Samui is a newly developed countries and as such has managed to retain some of their traditional Thai charm and values, but still an atmosphere of Mediterranean light. The restricted traffic along this route gives the feeling of a relaxed "Walking Street", which are increasinglyhard to find on Samui. Many of converted shop-houses offer romantic dinner on the beach.
